Assign moderators to Session

Release date: March 19, 2024

  1. Assigning moderators: You can now improve how you manage your Interactive Sessions by assigning moderators.
Assigning moderators
  1. Enabling SSO for Session, and the new location of SSO setting: If you are using SSO for event registration, please note the location of enabling SSO has moved under Registrations for all event types -> Advanced Settings. It is now also enabled for both Virtual Event and Session event types.
Enabling SSO for Session
  1. Using the segment Activity Panel: Instead of showing only the Event Activity Panel throughout your event, you will now only see the segment Activity Panel
    • If your Session Style is Stage: your Stage will have the Stage Activity Panel, including options for chat, Q&A, polls, people list and apps.
    • If your Session Style is Session: your Session will have the Session Activity Panel, including options for chat, Q&A, polls, people list and apps.
    • Reception and Replay will not have an Activity Panel as the Event Activity Panel will be disabled.

Session updates

Release date: March 4, 2024

  1. Convert a Session to an Event: You can now convert your Session into an Event if the scope of your event grows and you need additional event areas or more granular features. Once saved, you will be redirected immediately to the Basics page of the new event type.
Convert a Session to an Event
  1. “Advanced Settings” has been renamed “Session Areas”
Advanced Settings
Advanced Settings
  1. Only select one stage or one session: Sessions are now single-track events only and we are renaming Production Studio to “Stage” and Interactive to “Session”, in order to reflect the relative event area that is used in each style.
    • If you select Stage as your Session Style, you will only have a stage and no sessions. If you select Session as your Session Style, you will only have a session and no stage.
    • If you wish to have both a stage and sessions in your event (i.e. make your event a multi-track experience), we recommend converting your event format from a Session to a Virtual Event as described in point 1.
    • When opening “Show session areas”, the stage or session area will already be activated by default based on the Session Style selected.
    • You can still enable additional areas such as Reception, Replay and Custom Area by selecting “Show session areas” in your Basics settings.
    • If you already have a Session that was created before March 4 with both stage and session enabled, nothing will change for that event.
