RingCentral Events

Stay up to date with the latest features, improvements, and bug fixes for RingCentral Events.

Release date: May 18, 2026

  • Standalone Studio (open beta): RingCentral Events Studio is now available as a self-service video recording tool, without needing to create or host live events. This enables for on-demand recording as a standalone workflow that’s separate from the event lifecycle.
    • How it works: Directly accessible from Content Library via the “Record in Studio” button. Speakers can be invited to the Standalone Studio without needing to be a member of the organizations.
    • Key features:
      •    ◦ One-click recording: Users can start and stop a recording outside of any live event context
      •    ◦ Automatic redirect post-recording: After stopping, users can record a new video or go to the video library
      •    ◦ Org-level recordings: All recordings made within the Standalone Studio show as org-level assets in the
Content Library, with a Studio tag
      •    ◦ Standard and custom layouts are available while recording

  • Synchronized session start for recordings: A new “Going live” loading state will ensure that the broadcast only begins once the backend recording is active, eliminating the 5-6 second data loss at the start of events.

  • Simulive scheduling - Content Library video support: For simulive segment scheduling, a new Content Library section will be available in the video picker under the Recordings tab, surfacing videos from the Content Library alongside existing Stage recordings.
    • How it works:
      •    ◦ The 5 most recent videos will display by default, with a “more” option to display the next 5
      •    ◦ Will include thumbnail, title, and duration per item
      •    ◦ Any selected video will be highlighted and used as the simulive playback source
    • Deleting videos: In the Content Library, a delete confirmation dialog will be displayed to warn organizers if a video is linked to a simulive session. Deleting the video will also hide the associated session from the event schedule.

  • Waiting room for high-demand events: For high-demand events, there will be a new waiting room landing page to ensure a seamless and stable experience. This ensures that attendees can join the event reliably without facing platform outages or slow load times during peak entry periods. The waiting page refreshes automatically ~every 5 seconds to move users into the event as soon as it is their turn.
    • Organizers and moderators will automatically bypass the queue, ensuring they can manage the event without delay.
    • Speakers joining via direct invitation will also bypass the waiting room queue to ensure they are ready for their sessions on time.
    • All other attendees are admitted at an optimized rate to maintain a smooth experience for everyone, with a fair “first-in, first-out” entry process.

  • Auto-join breakout rooms: Attendees will now automatically join and go live on-stage when moved to a breakout room – with no manual “Join Stage” action required.
    • Attendees:
      •    ◦ Attendees with previously confirmed devices will be placed directly on-stage without any prompts. Those
not confirmed will be shown a camera/mic setup screen before being placed on stage.
      •    ◦ Attendees can still manually turn ON/OFF their audio and video after entering the breakout room.
    • Moderators:
      •    ◦ The moderator experience in breakout rooms remains unchanged - they will not automatically be placed
             directly on-stage.
  • UI updates & changes
We’re making updates to the RingCentral Events UI to ensure a more seamless organizer and event experience!
  1. Date format change in Organization Analytics: The current date format in organization analytics in the date filter is DD/MM/YYYY, and will be changed to MM/DD/YYYY to match the format used across the platform.

  1. Increased organizer account security: To ensure your account remains secure and to prevent unauthorized access, we are adding a mandatory One-Time Passcode (OTP) verification process. This was previously announced in the March 2026 Release Notes and will roll out to all customers this month.
