Creator Lab portrait format and burned-in captions for clips
  • Portrait mode: Clips can now be created in portrait format aspect ratio. The portrait format clips will have borders on top and bottom. By default, the border colors will reflect the event’s brand, but users can choose any other brand or also add a blur setting from the dropdown menu.
  • Burned-in captions: Burned-in captions will be enabled by default for both portrait and landscape format clips, with the ability to set the position in the video, and adjust font style and color.

Note: Once a clip has been exported to the library, the clip will not be able to edit its caption style, color, or aspect ratio. To make any changes, the user will need to create a brand new clip.

  • Refreshed UI of Data Apps: MailChimpAirtableActive Campaign
These apps have been migrated from Tray to Temporal, introducing a new, refreshed user interface (UI) hosted on RingCentral, allowing users to update their app configurations.
Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, and Airtable settings
  • Connection naming updates: In the previous Tray UI, users were required to manually enter an additional connection name for both OAuth-based and key-based app connections. With the new UI, this extra step is eliminated, and the system will automatically use the email ID associated with they key/login used to connect the app as the default connection name. Users still retain the ability to edit the connection name after the connection has been established.
  • Default connection names:
    • MailChimp & ActiveCampaign - Email ID associated with the key
    • Airtable - UserID associated with the key
  • Key editing restriction: Previously, key-based connections (such as Airtable) could edit the connection key itself. This is now restricted, as users will only be able to edit the connection name. To update the key, users should create a new connection instead of modifying the existing one.

Note: These changes won’t impact any data syncs of flows of existing users. Only when a user adds or updates a connection will they see changes.

  • Increased organizer account security
To ensure that your account remains secure and to prevent unauthorized access, we are introducing a mandatory One-Time Passcode (OTP) verification process.

Enhanced Login Steps:

  • Step 1: Sign In - Log in to your account using your existing password.
  • Step 2: Verification - RingCentral Events will automatically send a unique security code to your registered email address.
  • Step 3: Access - Enter the code on the login screen to access your dashboard.

Tip: If you don’t see the email within a minute, please check your Spam or Junk folders.

  • UI updates & changes
We’re making updates to the RingCentral Events UI to ensure a more seamless organizer and event experience!
  1. Post-event action pills on event listing page: The post-event action pills have been redesigned for a sleeker, cleaner look that better integrates with event information. In addition, they will now display only if a recording exists for the event. If a recording is not available, none of the pills will be shown.

  1. Copy changes in post-event AI Clips email: The current email, sent 24 hours after an event ends talking about AI Clips being available, now reflects full details of what’s available within Creator Lab, such as transcripts, Content Composer, portrait format clips, burned-in captions, and more. What’s available will depend on your RingCentral Events plan (Events Pro plans do not have access to Content Composer).

  1. Within Creator Lab, these changes have been made to avoid confusion:
    1. The ‘Publish & share’ dropdown menu, located in the top right, will be disabled if a clip is selected (in edit mode).
    2. Videos not fully loaded within the editor will show a loader with the thumbnail until the video loads completely and is ready to be played. Previously, the videos still had a play button even when the video was not ready.
