RingEX Core

Version 24.2 (Release date: May 7 to June 8, 2024)

Admin

  • Admins can now assign roles to users using RC App
  • Admins can now create call queues or edit settings for existing call queues in bulk
  • Allow customers to schedule activation email when adding new users
  • An improved flow for the user to follow through the Assisted Provisioning setup. Now it includes a Copy to Clipboard link referring to the instructions of specific devices models we support

Call Handling

  • Server-based conferencing for hard phones allows users to quickly initiate a multi-party (3+) ad hoc conference call directly from their phone. Adding additional participants to a hard phone conference is as simple as pressing the conference key on the hard phone and dialing the participants number/extension. Support for Delegated Lines/BCA included with this enhancement

Global

  • With the introduction of CCRN for pBYOC customers will be able to configure their BYOC number as CCRN
  • Support Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) purchase options for Mitel 6920W, 6930W, 6940W
  • Support Custom Key Layout Yealink T4U/T5W/T33G and Poly Edge E500 (new sign-ups only)
  • Enable SyncDnD for all VVX models upgraded to VVX FW version 6.4.4
  • Support Persist for Poly Edge series: E100, E220, E300, E320, E350, E450, E500, E550
  • Full support including assisted provisioning and merchandising for Poly Rove 20 with B1 base station

Partner Specific

  • Changed our timezone GMT-6 Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey to no longer use Daylight Savings time. For MCM, new users will be displayed with timezone "GMT-6 Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey” as default

Version 24.2.20, desktop, web, and mobile (Release date: May 2024)

  • Improvement for DND related "No ring" issues: To help users understand the missed calls caused by app and device OS DND status. It is especially easy for users to set a mobile device in the DND mode and forget this will also affect answer behavior on the RingCentral app.
  • What’s new announcement banner: Announcement banner replacing What's New carousel
  • Improve discovery of Help: Improved discovery of Help menu items in profile
  • BA Answered Elsewhere: This feature supports “Answered Elsewhere” in Business Analytics. When someone answers an incoming call simultaneously ringing multiple endpoints and coworkers, others see ‘Answered Elsewhere.’ 
  • Zendesk Integration Enhancements: Zendesk Integration Enhancements - In Browser Calling; Advanced Search Capabilities; Talk Partner Edition Integration; Display Call Queue in incoming calls
  • On-demand generation on AI notes during call: On-demand generation of AI notes during the call and notes available during call recap
  • Separate Live Transcription from Recording: Separate the Live Transcription from Call Recording feature
  • AI summaries: Get a summary recap of your unread messages to catch up quickly; summarize long messages to save reading time
  • Message Threading/Replies: Threading allows for more organized discussions around single conversations.
    • Replies to threads move down within the stream, allowing users to catch up quickly
    • Users can also view threads within the drawer, offering a singular view of their side conversations
  • Audio/Video Messaging
    • Audio Messaging: Optimized for speed, sending an Audio Message allows for more engaging and expressive conversation. 
    • Video Messaging: Easy to use and familiar with video recording controls; Ability to multi-task
  • Language settings in the desktop app: Users can now choose the display language for the desktop application. This feature is also natively supported by iOS/Android.
  • Assign ringtones to contacts: Instantly differentiate your calls by setting unique ringtones for your contacts.
    • Optimize screen real estate with the  drill-down experience
    • Streamlined search functionality and efficient assign ringtones workflow
  • Audio tone for warm transferred calls: Audio prompt (beep) triggered upon successful completion of a warm transfer to notify parties that transfer has occurred
  • Allow in-app role assignment to the user: Customer admins gain new capabilities in the RingCentral app > Company settings > User management > Manage users and licenses:
    • Choose the role of the user when adding a new user;
    • Change the role of the existing user;
    • Find users on account by their roles
  • Search and download of Transcription (Notes users): Enable users to search and download live transcription persisted after the call
  • AI writer: Users can now use AI writer for the following:
    • Improve writing 
    • Spelling & grammar check
    • Translate languages
    • Change message tone: casual or professional

RingCentral Events

Event creation flow update

Release date: May 8, 2024

  1. Clearer Event Types: We've taken steps to clarify the different event types that can be hosted on RCE, making it easier for you to choose the right format for your needs. You’ll now see all event types side by side when creating a new event. Whether you're hosting a single-track webinar-style event, a multi-track virtual event, or a hybrid/on-site gathering, our platform will scale with you and provide the feature sets that are relevant for each event type. 
  2. Introducing the “Webinar” event type: This event type is aimed for your simpler, quicker to set up, single-track events. With a simplified event dashboard and lighter feature set, the focus is on hosting your content in a single Stage or Session, while keeping all the audience engagement tools that make RingCentral Events unique. 

Native Push Notifications on the Attendee App (WIP)

Release date: May 3, 2024

Custom announcements from event organizers will now be sent directly to the RC attendee app as push notifications. Additionally, default push notifications will keep you informed about the event in real-time. Stay connected and up-to-date effortlessly with our enhanced notification system. Custom push notifications to be sent from the regular Announcements panel.

RingCentral Rooms

Version 24.2.20 (Release date: May 20, 2024)

  • Manage digital signage display times: IT admins can customize the days and times that digital signage displays from the Admin Portal. 
  • Rooms users can opt in to pre-beta features: With Labs, users can now opt in to pre-beta features before they get released in beta or to all users. Full HD (1080p) video for Rooms is the first lab feature.
  • Self-view in SIP meetings: With self-view, participants can see how they look on camera in SIP meetings. The user can hide the thumbnail or adjust its position and size.
  • Update the Rooms scheduler from the Admin Portal: IT admin can now update or schedule an update for the Rooms scheduler from the Admin Portal. 

RingCX for Dynamics

Version 24.2.2 GA (Release date: May 31, 2024)

  • Support inbound voice and manual outbound (including click-to-dial) with scripts
