RingCentral Room Connector | November 2021

RingCentral Room Connector allows customers with third-party SIP based hardware to join RingCentral video meetings.
What's New
  1. HD video1 and HD audio
    1. Join meetings in HD (up to 1080p) on supported devices
  2. SIP dialing support
    1. Dial [[email protected]] or [[email protected]] to join a video meeting using your SIP hardware
  3. In-meeting experience: Enjoy a similar in-meeting experience as RingCentral Video, which includes:
    1. Seeing gallery of participants
    2. Recording notifications
    3. Count of participants
    4. Tooltips for seeing all participants and menu of options
  4. Support for receiving screen sharing 
    1. Participants on SIP hardware can see content shared by others in the meeting
    2. Sharing content from your SIP hardware will be supported in a future update
  5. Software unmute and mute audio and video 
    1. When the host mutes video or audio, you can unmute using DTMF commands
  6. Show all or only video participants 
    1. Similar to RingCentral Rooms, RingCentral Room Connector only shows video participants by default
    2. An option is available to show all participants (so that both video and non-video participants will be shown in the gallery)
  7. View participant list 
    1. Users can view who joined the meeting via the participant list
  8. One-Touch Join for Poly and Cisco devices (via Poly OTD)
    1. Makes it easier to join meetings with a single click (requires prior setup of Poly OTD)
  9. TLS/SRTP support2
    1. Your security is our top priority: TLS and SRTP is enabled by default for all meetings
  10. Scheduling support
    1. Schedule your meetings with SIP join information from Outlook or Google Calendars using RingCentral’s productivity integrations or with RingCentral apps  (SIP join information will be only available if you have purchased a RingCentral Room Connector license)

    1. IT administrator tools for watching quality of SIP video devices joining RingCentral Video meetings in QoS Reports

Notes:

  1. Only works on supported devices (that are able to receive 1080p video).
  2. Cisco devices require public certificates to be uploaded to the devices before connecting to meetings. Alternatively, TLSverify can be disabled on certain versions of Cisco firmware.
